We are currently hiring for the following positions:

  • FIRST COOK

    Drake Commissary; The Drake Hotel's first commissary outpost to open in spring 2017 on Sterling Rd., in the evolving Junction Triangle, is seeking a dynamic, passionate FIRST COOK, who is looking to join a fast-paced, talented kitchen team. This position offers the opportunity to work with a fantastic culinary team focusing on artisanal techniques, like in-house baking, fermenting, smoking, preserving and pickling, to produce high quality, healthy dishes for guests to enjoy on site or take home. The role is committed to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    - Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively to provide quality seamless team-oriented guest service
    - Assisting in menu development
    - Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
    - Working with Café Chef to prepare café and Drake Pantry items. Including mise en place for café items before and during service.
    - Cook food for service and food to go including daily baked pasta, vegetables and grain salads, stews, soups, sandwiches and pizzas and dressings, pestos etc.
    - Maintain a clean and organized work space
    - Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen and obeying all health and safety procedures

    Requirements:
    - Experienced Line Cook with 3-5 years in a similar high volume restaurant
    - Available to work full time flexible schedule including days, evenings and weekends (Brunch- Saturday + Sunday)
    - Must be disciplined and have respect for colleagues
    - Culinary diploma is preferred
    - Must be available evenings and weekends

  • DRIVER

    Drake Commissary; The Drake Hotel's first commissary outpost to open in spring 2017 on Sterling Rd., in the evolving Junction Triangle, is seeking a dynamic, commissary kitchen DRIVER to make deliveries between our locations and weekly deliveries, in and outside the GTA. Driver will also assist with catering deliveries. The role is committed to providing exceptional quality and service to our vendors and internal stakeholders.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    - Ensure all deliveries are complete and up to Drake Commissary Standards
    - Returning all shipping equipment (blue racks, pizza bins, pizza bags, re-usable containers) to the commissary and putting them away in their proper storage place
    - Closing all delivery POs with the customer and working with department leads to ensure customer receives their full order in a timely and courteous manner
    - Purchase of produce from the Ontario Food Terminal and other small vendors, ie, Kensington or Chinatown.
    - Meet the Drake Hotel Properties quality standards
    - Devonshire linen deliveries (long drive, 5/6 hrs round trip)
    Requirements:
    - Hospitality experience is an asset
    - Valid Driver’s license required and has a great driving record
    - Must be flexible to work early mornings & weekends and have experience driving a commercial van
    - Trailer towing an asset
    We are looking for a commissary kitchen DRIVER to make deliveries between our locations and weekly deliveries, in and outside the GTA.
