Seventeen years since The Drake Hotel opened its doors as a neighbourhood hub focused on art + culture, we’re now marking a new chapter as we mature alongside our locale with the opening of the Modern Wing. The vibrant, expanded collection of 32 additional guest rooms, set in a dazzling contemporary building, seamlessly intertwines with The Classic Wing, housed in the hotel’s historic wing. The expansion expresses the dynamic evolution of the Drake brand through new layers of architecture, interior design, furnishings, objects and art, revealing both an intentional and relaxed set design that provides comfort, encourages curiosity and offers many surprises.

With more to explore, The Modern Wing reflects our evolution while the design remains true to The Drake brand - an inspired, texturally rich and playful environment that is timeless and considerate of every detail.

Led by The Drake’s in-house design team and local creative visionaries Diamond Schmitt Architects, John Tong of +tongtong, and international studio DesignAgency, alongside art curation by The Drake’s Curator Ashley Mulvihill, the group developed a meaningful vision that embodies a deep connection to our neighbourhood and the city. The canvas is now primed for you to experience it all firsthand and we are excited to show you our new flagship addition.
