We are currently hiring for the following positions:

Drake Hotel Properties (The Drake) is an evolving lifestyle brand focused on a growing stable of hotels, food and drink concepts, catering, cultural events and retail stores. We are creating our own version of neighbourhood focused retreats where travelers, culture seekers and locals all intersect to enjoy the thoughtful contradictions of contemporary and timeless.

We are proud to have been recognized for our offerings, design, employment experience and, in 2016, as Brand of The Year. To achieve this, we have invested in a robust marketing infrastructure that supports our businesses, allowing us to conceptualize, generate and execute our highly regarded brand strategies with an accomplished internal team. As the organization grows, the importance of telling our story clearly and getting in front of a larger audience has magnified. We’ve successfully built a well-respected brand with a passionate and loyal cultural following and now seek to ensure clarity of our core message. As such, we have decided to bring our creative and cultural services, across both The Drake and Drake General Stores under one leader. The Director, Brand and Content Strategy will own the brand and voice across all channels including online, social media, digital communications, PR, print and in-person.

As the Director, Brand and Content Strategy you will act as both steward and strategist of The Drake brand (inclusive of Drake General Stores) ensuring alignment across all guest touchpoints; public relations, cultural programming activations, traditional and digital marketing and art direction. Your experience leading cross-functional marketing and creative teams will be coupled with a passion for and interest in the cultural sector, through work, interest or education. As a key member of the executive team, you will build a best-in-class team that both responds to the current business as well as helps The Drake maintain its position as a Canadian Segment Leader in hospitality, culture + design. By setting a clear vision across all reporting disciplines, you will build cohesive brand awareness to engage with our stakeholders, inclusive of guests, neighbours, artists, collaborators, business partners and our varied supply chain.

You will partner with our staff and leadership, engage with our guests, build strategic partnerships and deploy content marketing and effective storytelling to reach our audiences. These efforts will be aligned to achieving revenue targets.

By identifying the differentiating factors of the brand, you will ensure that there is a constant thread through everything your departments produce, consistently highlighting our unique offerings and genuine values. The over-arching strategy of your division will be represented by you at the executive table, where you will demonstrate the business acumen and flexibility to adapt to the real-time business needs of multiple operations and stores.

To work effectively within our frameworks, you will be agile, shifting gears from high level strategy to execution, ensuring every program is flawlessly delivered from concept to reality. Creativity is key for the role, as is an absolute eye to achieving measurable results, on time and on budget. It will be your responsibility to ensure that our content is presented in a genuine voice that speaks to our current and future guests, and that the leaders within marketing, Culture, PR and Design are held accountable to delivering on this mandate.
