Design Icons: Meet Charles & Ray Eames

In our first design icon post, we decided to begin with one of the most prolific and important North American mid-century modern design duos of all time, Charles and Ray Eames. Known for their celebrated furniture designed for the Michigan-based manufacturer Herman Miller, the husband and wife team believed that design is not for the elite, but for the masses.

Style Icon: Nick Wooster

That’s easy for ‘The Woost’ to say. This fashion week fixture + previous Men’s Fashion Director of Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman embodies impeccable taste. With his handlebar moustache, tattoo sleeves + dandy style, Nick Wooster has been dubbed the “street style demi-god”, making photogs rush to capture his every (amazing!) look. What makes Wooster’s style so inspirational + ionic you ask? It comes down to his ability to mash prints, colours + proportions with the utmost of restraint. The result is always an undeniably cool look, which frankly would leave the average person walking around looking like a fool.

Fare + Provisions: Matty DeMille talks to Acquired Taste

With Father's Day fast approaching, we're happy to share our latest campaign, Fare + Provisions with you. The collection includes an exclusive line of food, preserves and pantry items made by some of the city's top chefs. We've also partnered with Toronto-based food publication Acquired Taste to profile the chefs involved in the Fare + Provisions campaign + discuss their views on healthy eating, cooking for kids and the ceremony of family meals.

Acquired Taste had the pleasure of sitting down with the chefs (who happen to be father’s too), to discuss everything from cooking with their kids, to what it means to be a great dad. For our final interview, they sat down with Matty DeMille of the soon-to-open Drake Devonshire to chat about everything from making faces out of food to whether or not he wants his child to follow his culinary footsteps.

The countdown is on for this year’s WorldPride! With all of the scheduled events, performers + parties, this year’s festival is ramping up to be the biggest international event seen to date. These ten days (from June 20 – 29) will bring people together from across the world, where our dynamic downtown core will be buzzing with energy. For our third interview we sat down with Bestellen’s very own, Rob Rossi. But considering Rob is not a father (yet), we decided to take a different approach and chat with him and his father Guido. The result is a hilarious conversation about picky eaters, Italian food culture and why Rob’s father is so proud of his son’s accomplishments.
