You might be forgiven if you've never heard of electronic hip-hop artist Sampha's name before but there's no doubt you've heard his voice. The London, England serial feature artist has a habit of appearing on some of our favourite tracks but after Thursday night's sold-out show proves, Sampha can stand on his own.
Better known for his work with SBTRKT and his stand-out collaborations with some of the biggest names in the industry including Solange, Kanye West and (our fav) Drake, Sampha is working on a full length album of his own.
Starting the night with Plastic 100°c, the singer, key boardist and producer drew in the crowd.
Tonight I am fortunate enough to be seeing Sampha in a 200-person venue.— Calum Slingerland (@C_Slingerland) October 20, 2016
Fans who got to see Sampha perform live in such an intimate setting were treated to an amazing set that left some people inspired.
I've waited many years to see @samphaaa live and now that I have, I am more convinced than ever that he's going to do something very special in this industry. My soul is singing and crying all at once. I can't remember the last time I went to a show and felt so deeply impacted by an artist. ✨ . . . . . . #sampha #toomuch #drake #nwts #thedrakehotel #westqueenwest #toronto #TOconcerts #bloodonme #jessieware #solange #aseatatthetable #beyonce #lavida
Even luckier fans like Itsoweezee's very own Tom Wrecks got to meet Sampha after the show.
