We've been rolling out a lot of exciting, great things at Drake lately. There's the new soundsystem at the Underground, fresh installations lining the interior of our front lobby, and of course, a new menu that's been making the first week of spring a little tastier around here. But this week, we're excited to introduce another new addition, this time to Drake General Store—ten new additions, in fact.

Tomorrow, March 25th, say hello to spring at Drake General Store with Modern Makers, a showcase of new brands and designers that we love from around the world. Not only is this the first time you'll be able to find these brands at Drake General Store, but many are appearing on Canadian shelves for the very first time. And we're more than a little stoked to say that they're exclusive to us.

So let's take a look at some of these new friends of ours, shall we?

Based in Los Angeles, Hopewell is the design workshop ofEliza Kenan and Claire Oswalt, creators of beautiful contemporary quilts in modern colours.

This Brooklyn-based experimental studio creates one of a kind planters in the shape of avocados and pineapples, which are cast from cement and painted in vibrant, eye-catching pastel colours.

Designers Jean Lee and Dylan Davis create a diverse array of products through their exploration of materials, like those seen in their gorgeous collection of modern wind chimes.

We will also be stocking handmade ceramics by Shino Takeda, incense by Blackbird, tableware by Sir/Madam, jewelry by Covet and Keep, throws by Caroline Z Hurley, bath linens by Japanese brand UChino and wallpaper by Baines and Frickers.
