Workflow presents Origin Stories a solo exhibition by Stevie Minacs.

Origin Stories is an ongoing collection of work that weaves painting and performance through narratives of beginnings — an identity in-chrysalis. These visual narratives investigate fables as the site where identity and culture are defined, negotiated and produced to illustrate the more intimate mechanisms which take place in the rich space of something that is ~ about to become ~. Through costumed self-portraiture, the artist explores fantastical possibilities of gender, resulting in an ensemble of characters together on a journey to finding queer joy.

Stevie Minacs is a transdisciplinary artist whose work is guided by vibrancy and mysticism. Often taking the form of self-portraiture, they integrate their love for multiple mediums, including painting, sculpture, and performance into multi-sensory visuals exploring queerness and fantasy.
