ROM Talk: An in conversation with artist Ranji Perera
Join us at the Drake MiniBar for an in conversation with artist Ranji Perera and Dr. Siddhartha Shah, Curator of South Asian Art from the Peabody Essex Museum, moderated by Jason Cyrus, of the ROM.
In light of Dr. Shah's ROM Connects lecture A Prince and His Pearls: Masculinity, Kingship, and Jewels in Royal India, and Ranji's stunning mural Our People at the Drake MiniBar, they will discuss historic representations of Indian identity and contemporary connections to Rajni’s practice.
This unique opportunity takes ROM experiences beyond the walls of the Museum and builds on the engaging programming for the ROM’s special exhibition Treasures of a Desert Kingdom: The Royal Arts of Jodhpur, India.
Attendance is free on a first come first served basis, pending capacity of the venue. Food and drink are available a la carte. For those wishing to stay on for dinner after the talk, reservations are recommended at www.drakeminibar.ca
