Douglas Carter started his DJ career in 1994. As a record collector, he has always been passionate about disco and house music, as well as Hip Hop, Reggae, and R&B. He was introduced to DJing at the age of 10 by following the Reggae sound crew called MAGNUM SOUND out of Clarkson Mississauga. Over time, he developed his own identity as a DJ and has been playing house music for over 30 years. He has performed at iconic venues such as The Social, Reflections in Halifax, Wrong bar, Roxy Blu, Revival, and countless other bars, clubs, and lounges around the city of Toronto, where he has become a well-known figure in the house music community.
From following Clarkson’s finest dancehall sound crew (Magnum) to the formative years of tuning in to Radio London with guest DJ Malik X, Douglas Carter has been at the forefront of Toronto's house music DJ scene since 1996. He has released his own music, including "Panama Red" in 2010 and later on the iconic record label Strictly Rhythm in 2012, remixing Louie Vegas' "The Untouchables". Douglas' unrelenting desire for multi-genre mixing and the self-serving sounds of deep house has propelled him to his current state, which he considers as "sounding like myself for once."
Douglas is not just an accomplished DJ, but also a person who donates his time and efforts to worthy causes. He has lent his talents to various philanthropic events, such as playing for the institute of the blind and “the coldest night" an event for the Toronto food bank, to name a few. He is the current owner of a event marketing company. As a DJ, Douglas Carter is a must-see. He has a catalog of dance floor-forward tunes that will make you wonder why you haven't heard of him before.
