Nuit Blanche
On September 29, join us at Drake One Fifty until 4AM for Nuit Blanche, the sunset-to-sunrise contemporary art festival taking over Toronto, featuring interactive installations by Lateral Office + BirdO.
On "Screen/Play" by Lateral Office and Andrew O'Malley, with ArtEngine
“Screen/Play” is conceived of as a game between viewer and audience. A series of nine folded screens will form a labyrinth of light, colour and reflection, inviting visitors to interact with the piece and the urban space around it. Mirrored fins distort reflections to create a kaleidoscopic experience, while coloured fins are animated by a series of linear lights which react as visitors engage with the piece. The colours of the lights shift with each interaction. As more people engage in the piece, the structures react to each other to create light patterns that are influenced by multiple participants in various structures.
