Winnipeg-born Micah Lexier is a Toronto-based artist and curator whose multimedia practice includes work in sculpture, photography, printmaking, and installation. With a strong focus on the expression of the passage of time in relation to ageing, his work incorporates numerical elements alongside those that reference the fragility of the human condition. In recent years Lexier’s work has explored concepts relating to construction of consciousness, personal and social identity developments, and temporal systems of organization and measurement as they relate to the individual psyche.
Lexier’s work has been shown globally and can be found in the collections of the British Museum (London UK), The National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa), as well as at the Drake Hotel (Toronto). Micah Lexier is represented by Birch Contemporary (Toronto).
