Gustavo Prado is a Brazilian artist based in New York. His multimedia practice explores the manifold aspects of space as he employs techniques of sculpture, drawing, performance, photography and video. Prado’s constructed environments transport the viewer to an alternate universe, a world turned on its proverbial head. Reflective in nature and highlighting slivers of life, Prado’s work discusses the self in relation to the whole and the deconstruction of one’s surroundings as an integral and idealized entity.
Prado's work has been shown at the Museum of Modern Art (Rio de Janeiro), The Year of Brazil in France (Paris), and many other galleries across South America in addition to being acquired by numerous private collectors worldwide. The artist has been a participant in various residencies and has published critical essays in several of Brazil’s top art publications.
