Maureen Swann is a County based artist and a graduate of the Ontario College of Art (OCA). After teaching at OCA, Toronto School of Art, and the Peel Board of Education, she eventually found her heart’s home in Eastern Ontario where her gardening continues to feed her creativity. Through her art practice, she collects and assembles found bone and stone, creating layered sculptures which she often adds paint, wire, or wood elements to. Both figurative and abstract, each sculpture tells the story of the found elements and Maureen’s process in building and transforming them into new ones.
