Jason Peters
Little Doodle, 2015
buckets, LED lights and hardware
New York artist Jason Peters’ whimsical sculpture may appear to be unstable at times with the series of interlocking buckets towering over the viewer from great heights in a position of tension. In contrast, the pattern and repetition in his work activates a calming feeling of familiarity which plays against the force of dynamic inconstancy that is also at work. It is an epic abstract 3D drawing, entirely curves and swooping forms that are reminiscent of a childhood trip to a waterpark. Installed at the front entrance it is a standout piece during the day and is brightly lit at night, serving as a playful beacon to be seen from the road.
Jason Peters has exhibited his distinct sculptural pieces in galleries across North America and Europe. He has completed a variety of artist residencies in numerous states including New York, Vermont, and Pennsylvania.
