When is an A-frame not just an A-frame? When it’s The Perch, The Devonshire’s new outdoor space for live music. Built out over the water, The Perch will host ticketed live music shows every Thursday evening this summer, focusing on new and emerging talent from around the province.
“Grab a seat by the water or on The Dev patio, order food and drinks and really take in the music. We’ve set it up so every seat has a view of the stage, and you’ll definitely hear everything clearly,” says Chris Wilson, The Drake’s Director of Programming and Brand Partnerships. “The water will be moving and swaying, there will be firepits set up, you’ll be under the stars – really, it will just be a super-nice vibe. It’s all about the opportunity to hear live music again in a relaxed, comfortable outdoor setting.”
What if you can’t make it to the show? Not to worry — the Happin app has you covered, live-streaming music from The Perch all summer long.
“Happin was presented with an opportunity during the pandemic — they saw ways to reimagine what a live show could be, and they filled the gap that we had during Covid. But it still makes sense, even now,” says Chris. “And the idea of creating an outdoor stage was to carry on our tradition of live music, which is a big part of what The Drake is known for. Partnering and powering The Perch with Happin was a way to embrace the two worlds we’ve been living in. We’re really trying to meld the two together.”
