Dear friends,
Bringing people together is what we do at The Drake. Unfortunately, in the current climate, this is presently no longer possible. It has become abundantly clear to us that the only way to slow the spread of COVID-19 and flatten the curve is to practice strict social distancing. Following the clear recommendations by Toronto’s Medical Officer of Health, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to temporarily close most parts of our food, beverage and retail businesses, effective March 17, 2020. Our hotel accommodation offerings remain open at The Drake Hotel in Toronto only.
Like others in the tightly knit hospitality community, of which we are so proud to be a part of, we have been carefully monitoring the unfolding events of the COVID-19 pandemic and, as such, will be temporarily closing:
- Drake One Fifty
- Drake Devonshire
- Drake Motor Inn
- The Drake Hotel’s food and beverage services, except for a grab-and-go take-out service through our cafe. This includes the postponement of cultural programming and special events.
- Drake Commissary, excluding a limited take-out offering
- Drake Catering
- Drake General Store retail locations, with a move to online only
As part of our community responsibilities, The Drake Hotel will remain open for overnight hotel stays. If you need a comforting place to spend the night in Toronto, please consider us your safe haven.
We believe drastic measures such as these, as being taken by all our extraordinary hospitality industry colleagues, are exactly what is required to combat this unforgiving virus.
