Gxrls Need Love: Toronto Edition

The evening will be a dynamic R&B / Neo-soul showcase, intended to bring the Gxrls Need Love playlist to life by giving Toronto-based women and non-binary artists a platform to perform. Adding an experiential element to the playlist with a live show will fully bring the vision of Girls Need Love to fruition, amplifying the voices of our all-women lineup featuring LeiLa Dey, Nicole Chambers and Gimmemar!
Martina (better known as her stage name GIMMEMAR) is a DJ, Singer, Songwriter and producer born in Serbia, raised in Vancouver and currently based in Toronto. While DJ'ing full time, making music, or creating visuals, Gimmemar is always creating and living life through expression with art. Her music is a fusion of R&B, soul, jazz, hip hop and electronic which blends layers of genuine lyrics and melodies creating a whimsical feeling.
Nicole Chambers is an emerging R&B and Neo-Soul songstress hailing from Brampton,Ontario. Her music is heavily influenced by artists such as Erykah Badu and Sarah Vaughan. Nicole connects to audiences with her evoking flow and sultry sound. Nicole hopes that her voice and her words, can bring people together, uplift them, unite them and allow them to jam out.
Born in Jamaica, raised in Toronto, Leila Dey enhanced her talent and skills by attending inner city programs. Leila Dey, performs soulful R&B, influenced by hip hop production, reggae and jazz vocal stylings. Pulling from Lauryn Hill, Jazmine Sullivan and H.E.R Dey’s sound can be described as smooth vocals over minimal-production.
Fresh Moses is an open-format DJ from Toronto. Her passion for making you move your feet is undeniable as she seamlessly moves between contemporary tracks and the oldies you forgot you loved. She spins music that is an extension of the city she reps— cosmopolitan, vibrant and progressive. Moses deeply believes that carefully curated vibes can transform the energy of a room. She views spinning as a collaborative opportunity between her and event attendees; she brings the good vibes and they keep the party going.
Keosha Love is a multi-disciplinary artist, activist and educator that intersects arts & wellness to empower women and promote positive health in BlPOC communities. As a writer, Keosha uses poetry for self-discovery, healing and promoting social awareness. She has graced many stages using spoken word to share vulnerable and untold stories and carries her vibrance on the mic as an event host.
