AUSTEN AMBRASKA SOLO EXHIBITION
Workflow presents YEARBOOK a solo exhibition by Austen Ambraska. 7PM_10PM
YEARBOOK is an ongoing photobook series presenting works from 2015 - onward reflecting on a community coming of age together.
Austen Ambraska is a Toronto-based Portrait Photographer. His work explores themes of community, youth, and memory through a lovesick lens. For Ambraska, the act of photography is to make a claim on the present. To freeze a fraction of a second in time is to argue for its importance. His portraiture embodies this perspective by highlighting the intimacy in sharing a moment. The subjects in his photos range from lifelong friends to complete strangers but are united in their evident connection to their present.
Ambraska studied photography at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) where he developed a love for archival practices, bookmaking, and the image as evidence.
Add your energy to the creative process as innovative artists from multiple disciplines showcase and discuss their work in the cozy confines of the lobby-turned-studio space.
