SIGNAL and collective frontman AKWA returns to Toronto, fresh off his London move and Berlin debut—squeezing in one final event of the year this holiday season on Friday, December 27th inside The Drake Underground.

We're not quite sure what to call the time between Christmas and New Year's, and like you, we also have a hard time remembering what the date is during this time. But this year, we surely won't forget Friday, December 27th, when AKWA returns to Canada for another legendary night inside the Underground, supported by a crew of friends and diverse, seasoned selectors bringing you "SWEATMAS" Signal's take on the holiday season.

Opening the night is TESFAY, Toronto-born and bred, bringing the sauce, funk, and setting the tone the right way. Joining him is SIGNAL OG and icon Nate Bennett from Ottawa. Together, Nate and TESFAY embody a carefree, effortless style behind the decks, delivering grooves and rhythms that will not only get the crowd moving but keep them there. This dynamic duo is guaranteed to heat up the room—perfect for SWEATMAS, where getting sweaty is the goal. These two booth chemistry go together like grandma's fire food on your Christmas dinner plate and the $6 bottle of wine your uncle brought to the family dinner—it just hits the spot.

Stacked in the middle of the lineup sandwich is your host, curator and Mr. CEO behind SIGNAL, AKWA. This bloke is making his first appearance back in Canada after being exiled to a rock in the Atlantic Ocean (United Kingdom) because he was on the naughty list. He’ll be treating all the dancers on the naughty list to fresh, unreleased tracks and a brand-new selection of house and techno from his time spent outside of Canada before heading back to London for the new year.

Closing us off is Mitchell Watson, who is fresh off playing a round of big shows this season, notably the sold-out Hello Kitty Rave at Supermarket in Kensington Market, where he debuted many unreleased tracks and a recent EP release with collaborator and friend Behne titled "LOWCAM." Expect to hear lots of his own productions and sounds featuring UK grime vocals, accompanied by fast and groovy low ends and left-field synths + ravey stabs.
