After staying fairly quiet following the release of their 2020 EP No Funeral, Native Other is back to close out What’s in the Box along with some friends. Expect to hear a wide array of genres ranging from Baile-Funk and Afrobeat, R+B, Hip Hop, and the danceable R+B tinged Indie music that Native Other is known for. Following the sets, expect a night of unadulterated fun and organized chaos with a special guest filled b2b DJ set until close.

Providing a window into honest, reflective thoughts on themes of growth, love and renewal, Toronto-based Native Other draws from Indie/Alternative, R+B, Psychedelia and Funk. They have left audiences awestruck while performing with an array of acts, including Canadian heroes: Daniel Caesar, Sean Leon, Dizzy, Hollerado and Chastity. Their much-anticipated upcoming release, No Funeral, is a 19-minute cinematic introduction to the warm and tender dreamworld of Native Other, through colourful sonics and accompanying botanical imagery. Planting seeds in an array of creative fields, Native Other emphasizes community through collaboration.
