After staying fairly quiet following the release of their 2020 EP No Funeral, Native Other is back to close out What’s in the Box along with some friends. Expect to hear a wide array of genres ranging from Baile-Funk and Afrobeat, R+B, Hip Hop, and the danceable R+B tinged Indie music that Native Other is known for. Following the sets, expect a night of unadulterated fun and organized chaos with a special guest filled b2b DJ set until close.

Nilly Noy is a Toronto artist who embraces his Brazilian and Angolan heritage merging baile funk and Afropop rhythms.

Jasmine Kiara is an R+B sensation from Mississauga, Ontario. With over 9 years of classical vocal training and Level 8 certification in the Royal Conservatory of Music Program. Jasmine has been writing and performing her own music which has received airplay on mainstream Toronto radio. Working alongside 2X Platinum Producer Txpski (Credits: Prince Chrishan, Chris Brown), along with Coop The Truth (Tone Stith, Eric Belllinger) to Juno award-winning & Grammy nominated Eddie Bullen, Jasmine has proven her ability to collaborate and executive produce her own music. After selling out Drake Underground for her debut headlining set earlier this year, you won’t want to miss her performance.

Providing a window into honest, reflective thoughts on themes of growth, love and renewal, Toronto-based Native Other draws from Indie/Alternative, R+B, Psychedelia and Funk. They have left audiences awestruck while performing with an array of acts, including Canadian heroes: Daniel Caesar, Sean Leon, Dizzy, Hollerado and Chastity. Their much-anticipated upcoming release, No Funeral, is a 19-minute cinematic introduction to the warm and tender dreamworld of Native Other, through colourful sonics and accompanying botanical imagery. Planting seeds in an array of creative fields, Native Other emphasizes community through collaboration.

Clairmont The Second, is a Canadian rapper from Toronto, Ontario. His 2017 album Lil Mont from the Ave received a Juno Award nomination for Rap Recording of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2018. He recently sold out Drake Underground and was featured in our Green Room interview series, where you can read more about him here.
