Storytelling for Grown Ups - A Special Mothers Day Event

    • Sun May 12th @ 6:30PM
    • Drake Underground

Books bring us awe, inspiration, joy and wonder as kids. They teach us lessons and provide closeness with the adults who read to us. As we get older, reading time becomes more of an independent activity, but we want to bring back those feelings.

The Toronto Poetry Project is holding a unique reading on Sunday, May 12 (Mother’s Day) at The Drake Hotel. We want to celebrate books, community, parenting and/or re-parenting oneself.

This is Storytelling for Grownups: Children’s Book Edition! It’s kids show for grownups where adults read kids books to adults.

We will be featuring spoken word artist and children’s book author @kaichengthom. There will be an additional special featured lineup of readers from the spoken word community AND open reading spots.

Bring your favourite children’s classic or new favourite you’ve been reading to the kids in your life. All are welcome to this all ages event. Bring your mom, best friend or meet a new friend!

BYOB blanket or pillow and get cozy at The @drakeunderground for this community reading circle with a twist.
