The tabletop becomes the canvas - Watch live art unfold as artists Mesoma Onyeagba, Kelcy Timmons Chan + Quinn Hopkins art practice collide as they unite to create a new piece of art for The Drake Hotel’s Modern Wing Lobby.
Artists in Table Drawing share the love of experimenting with expressive palettes of bold colours to depict their views on queerness, individuality, culture, mental health, and humanity.
MEET THE ARTISTS
Mesoma Onyeagba (website)
I represent black women culturally, explore abstraction for the self and depict exuberance as a whole.
Kelcy Timmons Chan (website)
Kelcy Timmons Chan is a Cantonese Canadian queer artist from Toronto. They design and create paintings, illustrations, mixed media works and stickers, as well as work as a local mural artist. Inspired by pop art and themes regarding individuality, biracialism, queerness and belonging, Kelcy’s work hopes to reach unique people with intersectionality and share pieces that are bright, bold and multidimensional. Kelcy used she/they pronouns interchangeably.
Quinn Hopkins (website)
Quinn Hopkins (He/ Him): Quinn Hopkins (b. 1998) is an artist inspired by new, innovative technologies - connecting them with the land and his roots as an Anishinaabe person. He utilizes techniques such as 3D modeling, digital drawing, editing, creative coding, and machine learning as he collaborates with the computer to research, design, and create his artworks. His interests are focused on developing new ways to visualize the spirit of the land to reveal the many truths about humanity's relationship with the land.
