    Please join us for the next slam on Sunday, June 11 at the Drake Hotel Underground. 

    We are having our regular two round slam and open mic, but two things will be different: 

    1) This is an early slam starting at 12:00pm - live up that night life energy in mid day! Come soak up that AC and stay cool with us! (See notes about food below.)

    2) The winner will take home $100! (THAT'S RIGHT, WE ARE GIVING $100 NOW!)

    BONUS: We can get brunch!!!! (More details to come)

    You will be treated with an awesome spoken word poetry set by the phenomenal stylings of Sydellia. She was our representative at the 2022 Canadian Individual Poetry Slam where she placed 2nd in the country! So get those fingers snapping for an awesome show.

    The slam will be hosted by 2x National Poetry Slam Champion Jennifer Alicia!

    Tickets at the door only: $10 (cash only - ATM onsite)

    Be sure to get there early. There are limited seats and then it is standing room only. 

    The winner of the slam will take home the glory and $100!

    - The Toronto Poetry Project Collective

    Sydellia Ndiaye is an internationally recognized spoken word artist who started in what is considered home to some of the world’s best slam poets, Chicago. The Senegalese American artist has touched souls all over the world by performing her spoken word in North America, Europe and Africa.  

    She became the second-place winner of the Canadian Individual Poetry Slam representing the Toronto Poetry Slam in April 2022 and was one of the top eight finalists in the “RISE AND FLOW” Emerging Artist Competition in 2020, organized by R.I.S.E Edutainment.

    Outside of Spoken Word, Ndiaye is a mental health advocate who has partnered with several mental health organizations and initiatives. She believes her destiny is to exercise the purity of speaking truth and spreading love while moving hearts and limbs through the power of the spoken word.
