12-hour short film screening featuring Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC) filmmakers offers audiences a wide range of storytelling, perspectives, and experiences conveyed through the overarching concept of Breaking Ground. Viewers will have the chance to witness the unique cultural and personal viewpoints of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, highlighting their immense talent and creativity.

The films showcased at this event will span multiple genres, including drama, comedy, experimental, animation, and documentary. This event showcases the significance of representation and diversity in the film industry, by showcasing the impact of underrepresented voices and their work.

Millennial X empowers filmmakers through workshops, training, and resources. CBC and the public libraries have collaborated with them to facilitate filmmaking programs for emerging BIPOC creatives, while its events and screenings showcase the work of underrepresented voices. Millennial X fosters a safe, inclusive community of creatives, and is dedicated to shaping a more representative future for Canada's media arts industry.
