Ellise is a theatrical dark-pop artist known for her hauntingly beautiful vocals, emotionally charged lyrics, and cinematic production. Raised in Foster City, California in a culturally rich household, Ellise's passion for music sparked early—first ignited by a school performance of a Kelly Clarkson song and nurtured by the influence of her family’s love for vinyl and tradition. By 17, she had relocated to Los Angeles, determined to pursue a music career.
She made her debut with “Dominoes” in 2016, but it was her 2018 viral hit “911” from the Can You Keep a Secret? EP that catapulted her into the spotlight. Her debut album, Chaotic (2021), further cemented her reputation as a purveyor of dark whimsy and raw vulnerability, blending electropop with alt-Z aesthetics. With tracks like “Soul Sucker Pt. 2” (featuring DeathbyRomy and Mothica) and her Halloween-themed EPs (Letting the Wolf In, Under My Bed), Ellise carved out a sound both eerie and ethereal.
In 2024–2025, she unveiled her most ambitious project to date—PRETTY EVIL, a concept album exploring the duality of heartbreak and healing. Bookended by the title tracks “PRETTY” and “EVIL,” the album chronicles the stages of grief through retro-pop beats, ballads, and some of her most vocally intricate work. With singles like the anthemic “bite,” the revenge-fueled “dead2me,” and the vulnerable “valentine,” Ellise proves she's not just a voice in the dark-pop world—she's a force reshaping it.
Now backed by a loyal fanbase and critical acclaim, Ellise continues to stand out for her storytelling, love for vinyl culture, and ability to merge darkness with beauty in every note she sings.
