Melanie Luna (b. 1997, Dominican Republic) is a multidisciplinary artist currently living and working in New York. Her practice focuses on notions of passing time, distorted perspectives, and surrealist landscapes.
Melanie’s large scale work Untitled (Wasteland) invites the viewer in by way of reflection. This imagined space conjures visions of ancestors roaming the desert as the sun beats down on them, searching for respite. The viewer is engulfed in this colossal, distorted reality as Melanie encourages consideration of a broader perspective.
