CAITLIND R. C. BROWN
Afterglow/Aftergrowth, 2019
Metal on wood
Afterglow/Aftergrowth is made from 5,000 hand-cut reflective off-cuts artfully lining a tree stump. They appear to be a delicate infestation, bedazzled in the sunlight during the day, and at night aglow for car headlights and flash photos. Drawing a relationship between the off-cuts of cities and the off-cuts of nature, Afterglow/Aftergrowth is a (de)composition of decadent decay.
