    Meet Renée Mathews

Swing by the Classic Wing Lobby of The Drake Hotel for an eyeful of new art.

Guest-curated by Regional Archive, Inverted Topographies is a collage-based mural by Renée Mathews that features a fusion of mixed media – including found materials from the hotel’s construction and archives. The expansive piece explores a post-apocalyptic planet where new forms of flora and fauna rise above discarded materials of the Anthropocene. Mathews offers up a futuristic lay of the land, drawing from an interdisciplinary artistic practice that often revolves around concepts of time, spirituality and inner worlds.
