We are currently hiring for the following positions:

  • MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

    This position requires an individual who is comfortable in a fast paced, ever changing building environment, with a wide variety of operations and technical needs. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the functioning of multiple of our properties. While on duty, applying preventative maintenance techniques and or executing major and minor repairs, supervising Building Services Representatives, overseeing maintenance issues, daily and weekly cleaning schedules and assisting with renovations and large projects as they arise(delete). Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, the Technician is also responsible for the following:

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Facilities Supervisor, with the day to day operation of the building by performing assigned duties
    • Act as a point of contact for all building and grounds related issues
    • Perform special projects as assigned by the Facilities Supervisor
    • Work with service providers to ensure contract obligations are met with value of service
    • Conduct daily inspections of the property and take appropriate action to ensure the highest standard of maintenance
    • Participate in all building operations relative to Fire, Health and Safety procedures and audits
    • To be available on call to respond to emergency situations when off site
    . be available for occasional night and weekend shifts

    Qualifications

    • A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience. Hotel/hospitality experience is an asset
    • Strong drywall and painting knowledge
    • Basic mechanical/electrical aptitude and trouble-shooting skills
    • Plumbing skills and abilities
    • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Must be able to lift up to 20 kg unassisted, and be able to work from heights
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and activities
    • Knowledge of outlook, word and excel
    • Adaptable to flexible working schedule
    • Community College of Trade School training on building systems; SMT (Systems Maintenance Technician) designation would be an asset

    We are looking for a reliable individual who is honest and has integrity, common sense, people skills, and who is calm in a potentially volatile situation for part time security.

    Requirements include but are not limited to:

    - A minimum of 1-2 year of experience in a similar role in a high volume environment, preferably in hospitality

    - First aid are an asset

    We are experiencing an exciting phase of growth and are thrilled to introduce a new role, with the Special Events team at the Drake Hotel. Handling ALL Drake Hotel reservations, including hotel rooms, The Reservationist role is a great opportunity for hospitality and special events enthusiasts to build their communication, guest relations and events skills.

    The Reservationist has a combination of skills and experience that include excellence in a high volume business, as well as proven track record of providing a superior hospitality experience and a solid understanding of events and reservation systems. The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality and is eager to build their experience, as well as best practices in guest service, reservation systems and special events.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    - Ensure you are consistently logged into our reservations line to catch live guests and accurately book them into our reservation system
    - Administer call backs to confirm reservations and event details
    - Work closely with the Operations team on maximizing table yields and flips as well as creating and maintaining reservation policies
    - Provide training on reservation + phone operations, standards, and policies to the host team
    - Prepare ‘at a glance’ documents to brief the host team and share any special needs and notes with appropriate staff (security, kitchen, operations…)
    - Maintain up to date OpenTable records on current + prospective clients, floor plans, hours of operation and Special Events buyouts
    - Conduct daily reservation systems (OpenTable, Roommaster and Caterese) sweeps, to ensure all bookings are aligned with Drake policies + procedures and maximize sales
    - Guarantee that correct credit and contact information is received and follows proper billing procedures (last minute/same day bookings)
    - Ensure all event inquiries are appropriately recorded with specific details sent to Sales team
    - Liaise with the Host and Operations team and communicate booking and client needs effectively through reservations (last minute/same day bookings)
    - Has the highest level comprehension of all Drake products and offerings
    - Communicating with host and operations to ensure seamless arrival for reservations

    QUALIFICATIONS
    - 1-2 years of experience in a host and/or event role in a high volume venue
    - Exceptional communication skills, written and oral
    - Demonstrated relationship building and ongoing relationship management skills
    - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
    - Client service focused, professional, with a creative and solution oriented mind set
    - Outgoing, confident + positive attitude
    - Strong attention to detail + time management skills
    - Experience and proficiency with reservation systems, preferably OpenTable

    Duties & Responsibilities:
    Guest Service Agent
    • Greets all guests with enthusiasm and is prepared to provide information regarding all aspects of what The Drake Hotel has to offer
    • Exercises outstanding telephone etiquette, ensuring phones are answered promptly
    • Ensures all aspects of room reservation protocol are followed, including bookings, confirmations + cancellation policies
    • Follows Drake check in and out procedures, ensuring mandatory details are covered while building genuine rapport + relationships with guests
    • Responds to all guest requests in a timely manner with follow-up communication 10 minutes after to ensure 100% guest satisfaction
    • Communicates effectively with Housekeeping staff to facilitate room turnover, when necessary
    • Responsible for monitoring hotel lobby cleanliness and to participate in maintaining high standards of cleanliness at all times
    • Communicates + collaborates with Security and F+B teams to provide genuine, professional, top quality service to all Drake guests at all times
    • Ensures that all correspondence, as a Drake representative, is reflective of all that we, as a world class hotel, stand for
    • Has the highest level comprehension of all Drake products

    Night Audit
    • Maintains highest degree of confidentiality on audit procedures, guest information and monetary systems
    • Performs all Audit tasks related to InnQuest/RoomMaster systems with 100% efficiency and accuracy
    • Manages internet inventory and works closely with Hotel Manager to ensure yield management goals are achieved
    • Troubleshoots any issues or inaccuracies with balancing the audit and seeks to solves problems to perform 100% accurate audit
    • Maintains awareness of fire and safety regulations

    Qualifications:
    • Strong guest service background
    • Post secondary education in a hospitality program (in progress) is an asset
    • Available to work 2 nights and 2 days during the week but flexible
