  • SEASONAL SALES ASSOCIATE - YORKDALE

    The Drake General Store continues Drake’s mandate for providing a community based hotbed for culture, an energetic hub for visual and performance art, dining, hospitality and, now, treasure hunting.
    The Drake General Store is seeking motivated and experienced SALES ASSOCIATES to join our TORONTO YORKDALE team for short term positions during the HOLIDAY SEASON. If you are design savvy, up to date with current trends, comfortable with books, clothes, jewelry, curios and most importantly, people, we are looking for you.

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
    • Minimum of 2 years in a retail or customer service environment
    • Demonstrated abilities with sales and customer relationship building
    • Must be able to work well and remain motivated within an independent, unsupervised environment
    • Experience in a supervisory or “key holder” function within a retail store would be considered a strong asset
    • Adaptable to a flexible work schedule, and availability for weekend shifts

  • SEASONAL STORE TEAMLEAD- YORKDALE

    The Drake General Store is a distinctive Toronto brand that has grown from a boutique gift shop at the Drake Hotel to a well-loved multi-location Toronto shopping destination. We are seeking a SEASONAL STORE TEAMLEAD for our TORONTO YORKDALE location who is looking for a rewarding and fast-paced role as we build our unique and exciting brand to join our team for a short term position during the HOLIDAY SEASON.
    The Drake General Store has a vision to grow the brand through local retail sales as well as expanding our national and international reach. In the past several months we've launched two new beautifully designed stores in vibrant Toronto retail areas.
    Along with the new stores our online presence is evolving with a revamped & world class Drake General Store website. And in addition to featuring the best locally & globally curated products we're also growing our private label brand SHARED as well as other in-house private label merchandise and apparel lines.
    With our many exciting projects underway the SEASONAL STORE TEAMLEAD will play a key role in the success of our growing brand.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    The objective of the Seasonal Store Teamlead’s role is maximizing in-store sales. They will achieve this through various activities including development of a successful and motivated sales team, supporting effective store marketing & promotions, providing exemplary customer service, ensuring accurate and timely store-level operations, and maintaining excellent merchandise presentation at your store.
    Sales development
    • Work with District Manager to produce a sales plan & objectives for your store
    • Develop, train, implement and report on sales development initiatives
    • Support marketing initiatives related to building overall store sales
    • Meet sales and business objectives through the delivery of store level initiatives, strategies and tactics
    • Developing support staff to achieve store sales & operational objectives
    • Regularly and proactively review and recommend improvements to the sales strategy

    Store Level Operations
    • Produce effective reporting on store level results for District Manager + Director
    • Manage the human, physical and financial resources of the store, ensuring that store objectives are achieved, interfacing with other departments, providing leadership and guidance to store staff and providing exceptional customer service.
    • Execute merchandising and store aesthetics to the expected standards by working with the Creative Manager to effectively merchandise at the stores (inventory management, receiving, organization, floor merchandising, back-stock)
    • Oversee monthly physical inventories at all stores and report necessary info to District Manager
    • Train staff, conduct performance reviews, oversee payroll administration and scheduling with the support of HR &DM
    • Set and manage store level schedule
    • Execute operations, adhere to guidelines in Store Audit
    • Own and drive Stores business through growing ADT, email Database and increase over Targets
    • Monitor and report Bonuses on a monthly basis with support of District Manager
    • General schedule expectations: Seasonal 4 Month Contract starting in September with open and flexible availability during the Holiday Season. This would include 5 days in-store shift, (minimum 40 hours per week including at least 32 weekend hours per month).
    • On call to support staff with any questions and/or issues that may arise.

    Budget Management
    • Co-manage store P&L with District Manager
    • Manage payroll, labour budgets and expenses for your store
    • Ensure accurate and timely inventory management and controls at each store

    Administration
    Daily
    • Complete with aid of the sales staff all tasks are completed from the Daily Task Checklist
    Weekly Review:
    • Supply Orders
    • Restock request
    • Weekly Store reporting laid out in the store supervisor working document.
    • Submit Time Clock Detail & Summary
    • Weekly Time Sheets
    Bi-Weekly
    • Time Clock Summary for payroll.
    Monthly
    • Inventory Discrepancy Report Summary and review with District Manager
    • Commissions Payable Summary for each staff member
    • Petty Cash Summary

  • SEASONAL ONLINE STORE ADMINISTRATOR-YONGE + EGLINTON

The Drake General Store has been developing their online presence significantly this year and has introduced a new website, increased social media engagement and are expecting continued growth in online retail.
    We are seeking a tech savvy SEASONAL ONLINE STORE ADMINISTRATOR for our YONGE + EGLINTON location who is looking for a rewarding and fast-paced role as we build our unique and exciting brand to join our team for a short term position during the HOLIDAY SEASON.

    Specific aspects of this role include:
    - Work with Store Supervisor + Warehouse Receiver to pull product for photography and ensure product is returned for distribution to stores.
    - Upload new products onto the site.
    - Process all online orders. Ensure that the product is in stock and available, and that when required, product is promptly requested from stores and delivered to warehouse for shipping.
    - Packaging + Shipping of ordered product. Ensure a great customer experience both online, and throughout the shipping process. Managing workload to ensure timely delivery of product.
    - Managing any returns, refunds, missed items (changed) orders.
    - Maintaining online order (sales) synchronization between both POS systems.
    - Ensuring online inventory is up-to-date - cleaning up older online stock, categories, promotions, etc.
    - Handling online customer support and order information requests.

    Required Skills:
    - Extremely organized and detailed oriented – able to effectively schedule their time, as well as other resources, for effective completion of deliverables
    - Good customer service, excellent communication and writing skills
    - Strong level of comfort with the Microsoft Office or similar desktop applications
    - Strong familiarity with a web based business environment and using online tools (e.g.: google docs, Magento, Vend, Excel, Canada Post Online Shipping Tool, PayPal, etc.)
    - Able to work in a very fast-paced and industrious environment

    The Drake General Store is seeking motivated and experienced SALES ASSOCIATES to join our teams + grow with our company. This position involves IN-STORE, WAREHOUSE and ONLINE FULFILLMENT responsibilities. If you are design savvy, up to date with current trends, comfortable with books, clothes, jewellery, curios and most importantly, people, we are looking for you.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Accountable for meeting retail sales and business objectives
    • Execute operations such as daily tasks outlined, adhere to guidelines in Store Audit
    • Control and minimize shrink through awareness, proactive initiatives.
    • Personify and exhibit DGS core values
    • Utilize the guidelines set out in the DGS selling right guide.
    • Ensure the store is opened and closed accurately and efficiently

    MERCHANDISE RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Maintain merchandising standards.
    • Communicate customers feedback about merchandise to SM and TL
    • Ensure store looks fresh and clean for every customer experience
    • Continue to audit and spot check store inventory to ensure accuracy
    • Communicate merchandise sell through and inventory inaccuracies as well as transfer errors.

    ADMINISTRATION
    • Verify cash float, deposits and all monies tendered (ie balance receipts)
    • Maintain accurate clock in/out records
    • Ensure cash always has enough change to get through 3 business days
    • Communicate any supplies needed or fixtures that need repair.

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
