  • WHOLESALE OPERATIONS MANAGER

    The Drake General Store is a distinctive Toronto brand that has grown from a boutique gift shop at the Drake Hotel to a well-loved multi-location Toronto shopping destination. And in addition to featuring the best locally & globally curated products we're also growing our private label brand SHARED as well as other in-house private labels Arborist, Held In Common & Drake General Store merchandise and apparel lines.

    The Drake General Store has a new vision of growing retail + corporate sales, as well as expanding our national and international reach. We are seeking a WHOLESALE OPERATIONS MANAGER. who is experienced, self-driven, motivated and is looking for a new and exciting opportunity to help expand a wholesale model and expand this business unit from the ground up. With our many projects underway, this developmental role plays a key part in expanding the Drake General Store outreach through new business streams in other retail outlets by collaborating with a variety of retailers and sales agents to grow brand and product exposure while increasing revenue.

    Key Deliverables:

    - Ensuring wholesale orders are packed, labeled, shipped + received by each of our customers accurately and on time.
    - Focus on positive planning + execution and the management + development of fulfillment personnel
    - Takes the lead on operational activities on major accounts and in collaboration with the Director.
    - Maintain fulfillment staff schedule and performance through coaching, conducting reviews, and providing feedback on desired results
    - Accurately plans, reviews and shares monthly and weekly sales, outgoing shipment streams, inventory levels and assess fulfillment staff’s productivity.
    - Identify objectives, strategies and action plans to improve short and long term efficiencies and savings
    - Creates operational policies, best practices and procedures.
    - Collaborates with Director to establish and control budgets for shipping and fulfillment
    - Reviews expenses and recommends economies.
    - Holds regular meeting with staff to keep the team aligned and informed
    - Manage wholesale SKU plan per brand through collaborating with sales, buying and design.
    - Co-managing price list and line sheet development with sales team.
    - Working with buying, planning and production team to ensure product is in house to meet wholesale order deadlines and will be shipped in full.
    - Handle inbound/outbound EDI transmissions, ASN, delivery appointments where applicable
    - Manage administrative team overseeing invoicing and A/R.
    - Manage B2B online portal
    - Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management system
    - Tradeshow coordination, set up and teardown.

    Qualifications:
    - 5 Years wholesale operational experience role in similar environment, preferably in fashion industry
    - Knowledge of B2B business
    - Experience with EDI
    - Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external stakeholders and clients and also act very independently in completing projects
    - Excellent copy-writing, presentation and verbal communication skills with careful attention to detail
    - Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
    - Extremely well-organized with strong time and project management skills
    - Problem solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trends
    - The ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast paced environment
    - A degree or certificate in Marketing or Sales is preferred

  • SEASONAL PART TIME ONLINE SUPPORT - QUEEN WEST

    The Drake General Store is a distinctive Toronto brand that has grown from a boutique gift shop at the Drake Hotel to a well-loved multi-location Toronto shopping destination. The Drake General Store has been developing their online presence significantly this year and has introduced a new website, increased social media engagement and are expecting continued growth in online retail.
    We are seeking a tech savvy SEASONAL PART TIME ONLINE SUPPORT ASSOCIATE our QUEEN WEST location who is looking for a rewarding and fast-paced role as we build our unique and exciting brand to join our team for a short term position during the HOLIDAY SEASON.

    Specific aspects of this role include:
    - Customer Service
    - Process all online orders. Ensure that the product is in stock and available, and that when required, product is promptly requested from stores and delivered to warehouse for shipping.
    - Packaging + Shipping of ordered product. Ensure a great customer experience both online, and throughout the shipping process. Managing workload to ensure timely delivery of product.
    - Managing any returns, refunds, missed items (changed) orders.
    - Maintaining online order (sales) synchronization between both POS systems.
    - Ensuring online inventory is up-to-date - cleaning up older online stock, categories, promotions, etc.
    - Handling online customer support and order information requests.

    Required Skills:
    - Extremely organized and detailed oriented – able to effectively schedule their time, as well as other resources, for effective completion of deliverables
    - Good customer service, excellent communication and writing skills
    - Strong level of comfort with the Microsoft Office or similar desktop applications
    - Strong familiarity with a web based business environment and using online tools (e.g.: google docs, Magento, Vend, Excel, Canada Post Online Shipping Tool, PayPal, etc.)
    - Able to work in a very fast-paced and industrious environment

  • WAREHOUSE MANAGER

    The objective of the Warehouse Manager role is controlling the incoming and outgoing flow of all product related to retail, wholesale and Ecomm. The Warehouse Manager is the overall leader of the Drake General Store warehouse and is responsible for the successful daily operations and actively managing a team of skilled and engaged team. From initial storage to store deliveries, and managing both people and the overall process + efficiencies this role is to ultimately increase productivity and manage inventory accuracy.

    Responsibilities

    - Maintains strict adherence to warehouse Standard Operating Procedures
    - Ensuring that inventory of the warehouse is accurate by initiating cycle and full counts.
    - Ensuring that product is received and processed in a timely manner following a set schedule provided by Buying and Wholesale
    - Investigate and identify operational errors + deficiencies, resolve accordingly and reduce further and potential risks and costs. Implement best practices to increase operational productivity
    -Manage WH support team performance through coaching, conducting reviews, providing feedback for desired results and corrective action
    -Manage WH labour to budget and demands of the season and initiate hiring/terminating WH staff with HR’s support
    -Maintains the appropriate level of supplies for WH activity
    - Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
    - Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts, health and safety programs + initiatives and issuing requests for repair and maintenance.

    Duties

    - Ensuring accurate inventory through cycle counts, full physical inventories and weekly transfer error reconciliation.
    - Manage the WH schedule in Schedulefly and manage labour budget
    - Manage weekly and daily objectives to proactively ensure readiness to manage all incoming and outgoing product for retail, wholesale and Ecomm
    - Manage the store delivery schedule with stakeholders
    - Manage incoming paperwork and share with appropriate parties
    - Manage receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing SOPs are followed and on schedule
    - Reports all shipment discrepancies
    - Reports monthly inventory
    - Reports daily shipment arrivals
    - Reports monthly labour budget
    - Signs off on all WH related expenses and monthly petty cash reconciliation.

    Qualifications:
    - Extremely strong organizational and time management skills
    - Ability to lift 50lbs or more constantly throughout a day
    - Valid Ontario driver's license
    - 5 + years experience in a high volume warehouse environment
    - Must be a strategic thinker with confidence and speed in execution
    - Must possess a thorough understanding of Warehouse Management Systems functions and how it relates to operational procedures including receiving, order processing, picking, packing, shipping, cycle counting, and reverse logistics
    - Must possess strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities
    - Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact at the highest levels of the company
