  • SEASONAL INVENTORY + ONLINE LEAD

    The Drake General Store is a distinctive Toronto brand that has grown from a boutique gift shop at the Drake Hotel to a well-loved multi-location Toronto shopping destination. The Drake General Store has been developing their online presence significantly this year and has introduced a new website, increased social media engagement and are expecting continued growth in online retail.
    We are seeking a tech savvy SEASONAL INVENTORY & ONLINE LEAD our Flagship Queen Street West location who is looking for a rewarding and fast-paced role as we build our unique and exciting brand to join our team for a short term position during the HOLIDAY SEASON.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    - Utilize the guidelines set out in the DGS selling right guide and provide great customer experience both online, and throughout the shipping process
    - Packaging + Shipping online orders, including process + sign off to ensure order accuracy
    - Managing workload to ensure timely delivery of product, returns, refunds, missed items (changed) orders
    - Handling online customer support and order information requests
    - Ensure that the product is in stock and available, and that when required, product is promptly requested from warehouse for shipping
    - Receive inventory shipments + assist in carrying shipments to online area
    - Maintaining an organized backstock at all times
    - Pull daily restock list based on sales from previous day and deliver to sales floor
    - Be available to deliver product from fulfillment to sales floor when needed (and available)
    - Leading online order fulfillment staff – managing scheduling of online staff as well as work alongside Sales floor staff.


    Desired Skills:

    - Extremely organized and detailed oriented – able to effectively schedule their time, as well as other resources, for effective completion of deliverables
    - Good customer service, excellent communication and writing skills
    - Strong level of comfort with the Microsoft Office or similar desktop applications
    - Strong familiarity with a web based business environment and using online tools (e.g.: google docs, Magento, Vend, Excel, Canada Post / UPS , PayPal, etc.)
    - Able to work in a very fast-paced and industrious environment

    The Drake General Store OTTAWA (73 RIDEAU STREET, MAIN LEVEL) is seeking motivated and experienced PART + FULL TIME SEASONAL SALES ASSOCIATES to join our HBC OTTAWA team + grow with our company during the HOLIDAY SEASON. If you are design savvy, up to date with current trends, comfortable with books, clothes, jewelry, curios and most importantly, people, we are looking for you.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Accountable for meeting retail sales and business objectives
    • Execute operations such as daily tasks outlined, adhere to guidelines in Store Audit
    • Control and minimize shrink through awareness, proactive initiatives.
    • Personify and exhibit DGS core values
    • Utilize the guidelines set out in the DGS selling right guide.
    • Ensure the store is opened and closed accurately and efficiently

    MERCHANDISE RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Maintain merchandising standards.
    • Communicate customers feedback about merchandise to SM and TL
    • Ensure store looks fresh and clean for every customer experience
    • Continue to audit and spot check store inventory to ensure accuracy
    • Communicate merchandise sell throughs and inventory inaccuracies as well as transfer errors.

    ADMINISTRATION
    • Verify cash float, deposits and all monies tendered (ie balance receipts)
    • Maintain accurate clock in/out records
    • Ensure cash always has enough change to get through 3 business days
    • Communicate any supplies needed or fixtures that need repair.

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
    • Minimum of 2 years in a retail or customer service environment
    • Demonstrated abilities with sales + customer relationship building
    • Must be able to work well and remain motivated within an independent, unsupervised environment
    • Experience in a supervisory or “key holder” function within a retail store would be considered a strong asset
    • Open availability to work weekdays + weekend shifts
    • Barista experience is an asset

    We are seeking a tech savvy SEASONAL BACKSTOCK ASSOCIATE our Flagship Queen Street West location who is looking for a rewarding and fast-paced role as we build our unique and exciting brand to join our team for a short term position during the HOLIDAY SEASON.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    Receive + assist in carrying shipments to backrooms
    Process shipment in a timely manner
    Maintain cleanliness and organization in the stockroom, including arrangement of merchandise according to DGS standards, breaking down shipment boxes and light sweeping/cleaning
    Participate and execute all requirements in the inventory process
    Support sales floor when needed, and build professional relationships with floor staff/management.
    Oversee new product arrivals and ensure all merchandise is placed on the floor in a timely manner
    Audit product levels, and ensure size variety is present on the sales floor
    Pull daily restock list based on sales from previous day and deliver to sales floor
    Be available to deliver product from back stock to customers

    Desired Skills:
    - Extremely organized and detailed oriented – able to effectively schedule their time, as well as other resources, for effective completion of shipments
    - Good customer service, excellent communication and writing skills
    - Able to work in a very fast-paced and industrious environment
    - Prior experience in a retail or back of house environment is an asset
    - Ability to work well in a team setting
    - Demonstrated professionalism and understanding of customer service
    - Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business

We are seeking a STORE TEAMLEAD for our HUDSON BAY VANCOUVER (674 Granville St.) location who is looking for a rewarding and fast-paced role as we build our unique and exciting Toronto brand in Vancouver to join our team for a Full Time position.
    With our many exciting projects underway the STORE TEAMLEAD will play a key role in the success of our growing brand.

    The objective of the Vancouver, Team Lead role is maximizing in-store sales. They will achieve this through various activities including: the maintaining store operations, steps of service and the Drake brand, supporting store marketing and promotions, leading by example and providing exemplary customer service, and maintaining store + merchandising standards through the measurement of KPIs, to ultimately drive revenue, guest satisfaction.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Store Operations
    • Collaborate with the HBC Area Manager to manage the stores physical and financial resources
    through KPIs measurement, communicating operation needs to Area Manager and/or the appropriate department, providing leadership and guidance to staff, and ensuring a superior service experience is delivered to all guests
    • Working with the Merchandising Coordinator to effectively merchandise and maintain store
    aesthetics (inventory management, receiving, floor merchandising, back stock organization)
    • Work with Sales Associates to ensure all responsibilities + duties are completed on the Daily
    Task Check List
    • Complete the “Daily Doc/ EOD” recapping ATD, conversation, UPT, sales, traffic, emails and
    goals and send to Area Manager
    • Work with Area Manager on staff performance reviews and action plans
    • Manage Payroll, labour budgets and expense for HBC Vancouver with support from Area Manager
    • Responsible for completing weekly reporting including: supply orders, restock requests, and time clocks (detail+ summary)
    • Submit bi- weekly payroll
    • Execute monthly inventories and ensure accurate and timely inventory management controls
    • Complete Inventory Discrepancy Report Summary through investigation and audits
    • On call to support store or staff questions and/ or issue that may arise

    Sales Responsibilities
    • Work with HBC Area Manager to produce sales strategies and objectives for the store
    • Execute DGS marketing initiatives and promotions, to increase overall store sales
    • Support sales + business objectives and proactively recommend improvements on a regular
    basis
    • Drive store business by growing ADT and email database, and exceeding daily targets

    Training Responsibilities
    • Support training and on-boarding of all New Hires from start to finish
    • Review and update all HBC training documents to ensure consistency and content relevancy to
    the DGS. Inform HBC Supervisors (HBC Ottawa + HBC Vancouver) and HBC Area Manager on new HBC protocols and SOP’s that DGS are required to enforce. Execute and manage training HBC Vancouver on HBC protocols.
    • Encourage and promote on-going in store and optional training programs
