  • WHOLESALE OPERATIONS MANAGER

    The Drake General Store is a distinctive Toronto brand that has grown from a boutique gift shop at the Drake Hotel to a well-loved multi-location Toronto shopping destination. And in addition to featuring the best locally & globally curated products we're also growing our private label brand SHARED as well as other in-house private labels Arborist, Held In Common & Drake General Store merchandise and apparel lines.

    The Drake General Store has a new vision of growing retail + corporate sales, as well as expanding our national and international reach. We are seeking a WHOLESALE OPERATIONS MANAGER. who is experienced, self-driven, motivated and is looking for a new and exciting opportunity to help expand a wholesale model and expand this business unit from the ground up. With our many projects underway, this developmental role plays a key part in expanding the Drake General Store outreach through new business streams in other retail outlets by collaborating with a variety of retailers and sales agents to grow brand and product exposure while increasing revenue.

    Key Deliverables:

    - Ensuring wholesale orders are packed, labeled, shipped + received by each of our customers accurately and on time.
    - Focus on positive planning + execution and the management + development of fulfillment personnel
    - Takes the lead on operational activities on major accounts and in collaboration with the Director.
    - Maintain fulfillment staff schedule and performance through coaching, conducting reviews, and providing feedback on desired results
    - Accurately plans, reviews and shares monthly and weekly sales, outgoing shipment streams, inventory levels and assess fulfillment staff’s productivity.
    - Identify objectives, strategies and action plans to improve short and long term efficiencies and savings
    - Creates operational policies, best practices and procedures.
    - Collaborates with Director to establish and control budgets for shipping and fulfillment
    - Reviews expenses and recommends economies.
    - Holds regular meeting with staff to keep the team aligned and informed
    - Manage wholesale SKU plan per brand through collaborating with sales, buying and design.
    - Co-managing price list and line sheet development with sales team.
    - Working with buying, planning and production team to ensure product is in house to meet wholesale order deadlines and will be shipped in full.
    - Handle inbound/outbound EDI transmissions, ASN, delivery appointments where applicable
    - Manage administrative team overseeing invoicing and A/R.
    - Manage B2B online portal
    - Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management system
    - Tradeshow coordination, set up and teardown.

    Qualifications:
    - 5 Years wholesale operational experience role in similar environment, preferably in fashion industry
    - Knowledge of B2B business
    - Experience with EDI
    - Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external stakeholders and clients and also act very independently in completing projects
    - Excellent copy-writing, presentation and verbal communication skills with careful attention to detail
    - Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
    - Extremely well-organized with strong time and project management skills
    - Problem solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trends
    - The ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast paced environment
    - A degree or certificate in Marketing or Sales is preferred

With our many projects underway, this inaugural role plays a key part in expanding the Drake General Store outreach through new business streams in other retail outlets by collaborating with a variety of retailers and sales agents to grow brand and product exposure while increasing revenue.

    Key Deliverables:
    - Introduce and implement a wholesale model while managing and driving private label sales
    - Develop new business relationships and collaborations with retailers, sales agents and brands
    - Takes the lead on operational activities on major accounts and in collaboration with the Director.
    - Takes the lead on sales activities on major accounts and in collaboration with the Director, negotiate sales price and discounts.
    - Focus on consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues through positive planning + execution and the management + development of sales personnel
    - Collaborate with our internal marketing and graphic design team, to create collateral material and marketing plans that showcase our brand to prospective buyers/agents
    - Identify objectives, strategies and action plans to improve short and long-term sales and earnings
    - Co-managing price list and line sheet development with operations team.
    - Working with buying, planning and production team to ensure product is in house to meet wholesale order deadlines and will be shipped in full.
    - Accurately forecasts, reviews and shares annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams and assess sales staff’s productivity.
    - Creates sales policies, best practices and procedures.
    - Educates sales team by establishing programs/seminars in the areas of new account sales and growth, sales of emerging products and multi-product sales, profitability, improved presentation strategies, competitive strategies, proper use and level of sales support, management of expenses and business/financial issues on contracts.
    - Collaborates with Director to establish and control budgets for sales promotion and trade show expenses.
    - Reviews expenses and recommends economies.
    - Holds regular meeting with sales staff to keep the team aligned and informed
    - Developing and curating a unique corporate gifting program for clients and employees
    - 10% travel in Canada and US

    Qualifications:
    - 5-7 Years retail marketing or sales experience role in similar environment, preferably in fashion industry
    - Well connected to retail and wholesale landscape – local and international
    - Proven success qualifying and closing new or existing business sales opportunities.
    - Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external stakeholders and clients and also act very independently in completing projects
    - Excellent copy-writing, presentation and verbal communication skills with careful attention to detail
    - Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • MARKETING COORDINATOR

In addition to featuring the best locally + globally curated products we're also growing our private label brands – Shared, Arborist, Held In Common + Drake General Store merchandise and apparel lines as well as a curated collection of international distribution brands.

    We are seeking an eager and energetic MARKETING COORDINATOR, who can juggle, write, research, prioritize and keep things in order (did we say juggle?). A personable team player who thrives in a busy environment. A well-organized multi-tasker with a do-what-it-takes-to-get-things-done attitude. A social networker, creative mind, strong communicator + ‘OCD’ organizer – with a lot of friends, connections, and followers. A person with an eclectic range of interests, who comes from a similar ecosystem as Drake, where business, community, culture and ingenuity all intersect.

    Responsibilities:

     Work closely with the in-house marketing + creative teams to develop marketing campaigns – from ideation/theme + creative direction phase through to seamless execution across all channels.
     Create marketing plan + manage calendar for each campaign (including key messages, promotions + events) and the communication plan + execution across all channels (retail signage, social media, web banners, email, digital, print, Drake Hotel Properties channels + more)
     Manage + monitor all Drake General Store social media channels (Instagram, Facebook + Twitter) including acquisition strategy, content creation (in partnership with creative team) + customer service
     Manage e-mail calendar including schedule + content, briefing creative team, approvals, scheduling + reporting
     Manage marketing related store signage (promotions, contests, brand/product descriptions + more) including briefing creative team, managing approvals and coordination of execution with stores, in partnership with Merchandise Coordinator.
     Manage digital marketing campaigns including calendar + key messages, briefing creative team, managing approvals, scheduling and reporting – with strategic direction from Sr. Marketing Manager + Digital Specialist.
     Act as PR liaison to manage all press requests including products + images, press/influencer relationships, and maintaining Flickr with images + product information for each campaign
     Manage in-store events at the Flagship in partnership with Brand Ambassador including development of calendar and curation of unique/on brand events, communication with partners/vendors + participants, and seamless execution from set-up to tear down.
     Manage communication of all marketing messages to stores (including campaign kick-off deck, calendar, weekly emails, store sign kits, distribution of printed collateral, events)
     Manage weekly marketing reporting (social, digital marketing, web, email, competitive insights, promo tracking, event results, PR impressions, etc) to present to team during weekly status meetings
     Manage creation of campaign post mortems including gathering inputs from all team members
     Assist Sr. Marketing Manager with managing marketing budget and tracking invoices/expenses
     Assist Sr. Marketing Manager with execution of special projects + partnerships
     Act as switchboard manager for info@drakegeneralstore.ca email to delegate customer service inquiries and ensure they are addressed + completed
     Assist with managing photography process including working with freelance photographer to develop + manage shot list, style lifestyle photoshoots + organize photographs on the internal drive, etc.
     Support Sr. Marketing Manager + Wholesale Sales Manager to develop collection linesheets + assist with other additional sales initiatives.

    Qualifications:
     Experience working in marketing (retail preferred) with a minimum of 3-5 years experience
     Creative + strategic thinker with the ability to identify trends and apply them to our business
     Experience working with digital + traditional marketing channels
     Strong knowledge of social media outlets and practices
     Strong communication, proof-reading skills and attention to detail
     The ability to meet tight deadlines regularly
     Experience with statistical reports, including Google Analytics + Campaign Monitor
     Skillful long and short copy writing skills, with good grammar, spelling, punctuation and structure.
     A strategic team player who thinks outside of the box and is always willing to contribute feedback.
     Comfortable working within a very busy + fast paced environment – highly organized
     Degree or diploma in a related field (preferred)
     Some evening + weekend hours will be required maintaining social media content + engaging with followers via social platforms
     Unafraid to dig in, roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty
