    W/ Aliocha

Born of a Polish father and a Quebecer mother, Matt Holubowski grew up in a bilingual household in Hudson, QC and has always lived at the crossroads of the French and English languages. This notion of isolation of two cultures within a single territory fascinates this globe-trotter; lover of his planet and its infinite cultures. With this second album, Solitudes, the self-taught musician, poet and composer offers eleven titles that in many ways evoke isolation, estrangement, and exile, but also delves into the forms of solitudes we seek and often at times need.

Holubowski’s unmistakable voice and steadfast personality was revealed to some through his appearance as a finalist on the super-popular TV show La Voix. He has since worked tirelessly, surrounding himself with invaluable musical collaborators, with Stéphane Bergeron (Karkwa) on drums, Marc-André Landry (Chloé Lacasse) on bass, Simon Angell (Patrick Watson) on guitar and Marianne Houle (Antoine Corriveau) on cello. Connor Seidel produced the record, and co-mixed it with Warren Spicer (Plants and Animals). The resulting Solitudes sold over thirty thousand units since its release on September 23rd and its tour will take Matt to over 80 cities and counting

Grand Analog is a raw collective of seasoned record collectors, musicians and self described beat junkies. You can easily find any of these characters DJing at various clubs around Toronto or Winnipeg. Band leader and creator, Odario Williams, describes the Grand Analog sound as a beautiful mess of rap'n'roll, dub and soul. The band’s critically acclaimed albums, “Calligraffiti” and “Metropolis Is Burning”, boasted an infectious array of soundscapes that was unbalanced and dirty; never clean.

Each personality in this collective brings something unique to the table. Odario and DJ Ofield blame their father, a reggae DJ from the 80s, for cursing them with the love of music, bass and trouble. DJ Catalist was also born into a musical family, inheriting a vintage collection of analog keyboards and an uncanny resemblance to Frank Zappa. Warren Bray is the secret sauce on bass and TJ Garcia trips the light fantastic behind his drum kit. Due in 2013, their new album, “Modern Thunder”, features guest artists ranging from Saukrates and Shad and Maylee Todd.

Grand Analog's restless feet create an extensive touring schedule. The live show adds soul to the bloodline along with frequent stage jams and off the wall spontaneity. Over the last six years, Grand Analog has left its mark on prestigious showcases and festivals such as SXSW, CMJ, Pop Montreal, the Halifax Pop Explosion, JunoFest, Breakout West and CMW plus shows supporting the Herbaliser, K-OS, Big Boi and Kardinall Offishall.

A great DJ can make a room fall in love for a moment, simply because DJing is more than selecting a few songs. It’s about generating shared moods, understanding the feelings of a group of people and directing them into a better place. Inspired by all genres of music, known for his ability to do the unexpected, meanwhile keeping things fresh; DJ Nana has been moving rooms to his beat since age Fourteen. Nana dedicates the precision of a mechanic or a scientist when crafting his art, as he believes that DJing and Turntablism is a science.
