Holiday Playlist

Get in the spirit with an alternative playlist that'll make Santa wish his sleigh had bluetooth. We've got a soft-spot for the season, but we don't know if we can stand another Rod Stewart Christmas (although, it just feels right sometimes). Check out our list of Quintessential Late-December Listening that'll have all the creatures stirring. Yes even a mouse.

The Pogues + Kirsty MacColl, "Fairytale of New York"
Arguably the #1 Christmas song of all time. Through it, we are reminded that sometimes Christmas is about guzzling whisky and arguing with the ones you love most. Not to mention, Shane MacGowan was born on Christmas Day. Check out this great article about the song.

Run-DMC, "Christmas in Hollis"
The most-classic of all Christmas hip-hop, you even hear this song being bumped over the ACC speakers in May. That's when you know you've made it big.

Gucci Mane x Montana Da Mac x Waka Flocka, "Grinch Stole Christmas"
Because... free Gucci.

Frank Sinatra, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas"
A holiday standard from ol' Blue Eyes, a.k.a. The Sultan of Swoon, a.k.a. Frank Swoonatra. Trust us, you're going to need it after that last song.

Musi O Tunya, "Bashi Mwana (Give Love To Your Children)"
Surprisingly (maybe not surprisingly) watching Fargo made us realize that the Coen brothers' classic is just oozing holiday spirit from its core. This song will make anyone feel good and that's what Christmas is all about!

Run The Jewels, "A Christmas F*cking Miracle"
Kind of a Christmas song... The video is definitely Christmas-ish, but what we know for certain is this turned out to be an actual banger of a hip-hop track regardless of the season.

SBTRKT x Sampha, "Trials of the Past"
Because it's 4PM on December 24th and he says, "Ghosts of Christmas past..."

Barenaked Ladies, "Hannukah, O Hannukah"
A couple of weeks too late, but the BNL's go OFF on this track. 'Nough said.

Louis Armstrong, "White Christmas"
Is the 'Cancun-esque' weather this year keeping you from getting in the Holiday Spirit? Put this on repeat for an hour or two.
