Italy

Our amazing #DrakeChefs don’t just cook; they compete, travel, hit up industry happenings and take us behind the scenes of our Drake kitchens every #FoodFriday. In today's blog post, Drake’s Corporate Executive Chef Ted Corrado let us in on the secret to traveling Italy; eat as much as you can and you will have no regrets.

Summers are a busy, busy (did I mention crazy busy) time of year for me. Between Taste of Toronto, WayHome Music + Arts and summer menu flips at all three restaurants, some much needed R&R was very necessary. My choice of destination? A family trip with my wife + two daughters back to the motherland, Numana, Italy! The central Adriatic coastal town lies at the southern foot of Monte Conero and is often called “Numana alta” as it is on top of a cliff overlooking the sea. The stunning views alone are worth the trip to this small town; with sandy beaches, rolling hills, and sunny temperatures, this place looks + feels like paradise. Below is a series of photos documenting my amazing time in Italy; complete with the food I ate (this what pasta + pizza should always taste like), gelato (faced with 38C weather, gelato saved my life) + my family!
