Nuit Blanche With Drake

Nuit Blanche

For this 2015 Nuit Blanche, Drake One Fifty has partnered with the City of Toronto for the “10 for 10th” program. To commemorate Nuit Blanche’s 10th edition, Toronto has teamed-up with 10 organizations that have supported the fest since the very beginning to produce out-of-this-world exhibitions. Curated by Che Kothari, the "Light Cave" is an epic sculpture by Miami collective Friends with You and will be installed on the plaza in front of Drake One Fifty at 150 York Street. Swing by Drake One Fifty at 5PM for an intimate artist talk and book signing with the collective.

Also, in the Drake One Fifty parking lot, we’ll be hosting the newest experience from the Deadly Nightshades. They’ve outfitted a vintage trailer with all kinds of awesomeness. In their own words:

Trailer Baroness is a highbred pop up shop, art space and camper all in one. Gifted to the Deadly Nightshades by the Trailer Park boys in 2014, we have spent the last year reno-ing it into our dream work and play space. This Nuit Blanche 2015 we would love to partner with the Drake for a fun and interactive cycling and photography exhibition!

As a collective we have been promoting the love of the great two wheels (3 for those tricycle lovers out there) for almost a decade. We are ready to fully commit. Come down to Trailer Baroness with your favourite two-wheeled friend and make it official. The Deadly Nightshades will be dressed up as your ultimate celebrity hosts to marry you to your bike. Dolly Parton, Elvis, Lady Gaga and more will be on hand. Trailer Baroness will be transformed into the ultimate Vegas wedding chapel on the Drake Patio. You will leave with your official “LOVE OF BIKING” certificate and a professional portrait of you and your love will be put on our blog (talk about the ultimate Facebook profile pic).

At the Drake Hotel, new media artist Alex McLeod is taking over the facade with a guerilla-style projection for Nuit Blanche.

Murray White recently described McLeod in the Toronto Star as: "a virtuoso of virtual rendering, known for creating impossible, candy-coated worlds oozing with digital ick."

FINALFANTASY will throb and pulse with hypnotic patterns and colours, bringing the graphics of Tron into the future through a lens of art and K-Pop (killer combo, we might say).

Take in all of this artistic goodness at Drake One Fifty + the Drake Hotel on October 3rd from dusk 'til dawn.
