This TIFF, Get ready to ROCK STEADY. We’re turning the music up and inviting you to get down for a solid night of fun. Historically epic, our TIFF launch party is a massive experience with just one rule: good vibes only. Meet us at the Drake Hotel @9 p.m. on Sept 4th for the annual building-wide bash featuring X Ambassadors, Brendan Philip + more. Back by popular demand, ours is the only party in town where you can snag a free not-so-temporary tattoo before hitting the dance floor in authentic ink from Speakeasy Tattoo. If you’re looking to flaunt some less permanent paint, Pinky’s Nails has your Rock Steady manicures ready to go. We’re starting early and going ‘til late; 4 a.m. to be precise!
Keep it dapper and dress super fresh to jive with our street-style inspired décor, transforming the Drake into a place of TIFF revelry for all of Toronto's rude boys and girls. If that's not your style, you can always go funky fresh with checkers or a tie for our ultimate West end HQ celebration of visual art, film + music. As for drinks, come try the evening's specially created feature cocktails, fittingly named Pressure Drop (yes, that's a Toots and the Maytals song), brought to you by Havana Club three-year-old añejo rum and some bourbon-aged brew from Goose Island that are sure to keep the party groovin'.
Check out the list below for our full line-up of acts to keep you dancing all night 'til late.
SEPTEMBER 4TH/LAUNCH PARTY
TIFF meets GIF: If that's not enough, come see our TVs get invaded + animated by Drake TV GIF Takeover, featuring GIF art from local + international artists. You can also catch the moving art of London-based Shaun Gladwell for Future Projections, displayed on the windows of the Drake General Store + up on the Sky Yard. Both are happening after dark throughout the ten days of TIFF.
In short: you're not going to want to miss this ultimate festival jam.
As the festival wraps up, be sure to check out the Toronto Urban Film Festival TUFF line-up of Canadian + international silent films. You can take in the whole programming in Drake's Room 222 from Sept. 10-13.
