We’re so excited to announce our latest retail location at Hudson’s Bay Rideau Street in downtown Ottawa. It’s the first outpost outside of Toronto and comes fresh off multiple collaborations with Hudson’s Bay over the last year, including a pop-up-turned-permanent shop in their flagship store on Yonge Street and a World Pride pop-up shop in June 2014.
Opening August 8th, our new store will be located in downtown Ottawa’s Hudson’s Bay store (close to popular ByWard Market) on the main floor. The new space will offer a distinct product mix and design that will compliment Hudson’s Bay’s iconic brand. Alongside unique, eclectic items sourced from Canada and around the world, the store will also carry its growing in-house lifestyle brands: Shared, Held In Common, Arborist and Drake General Store.
The new outpost’s interior will include design elements that have become features of Drake General Store’s recognizable aesthetic (think antique-meets-contemporary vibe), as well as details designed specifically for the store. A recent sourcing trip to the Brimfield Antique Show netted myriad one-of-a-kind found objects, including fixtures from a 1920s pharmacy that will anchor the space, echoing the design of the Queen Street West flagship location.
Celebrating all things true and north in an honest, contemporary way is a foundational pillar shared by both Drake General Store and Hudson’s Bay. Together, the brands work to redefine what it means to be a Canadian retailer today.
