Power Plant

We love our friends + cultural partners and one of our BFF's is The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery. Since its inception in 1987, The Power Plant has housed large-scale installations from the best + brightest in Canadian art, including Micah Lexier, Shary Boyle, Evan Penny, Janet Cardiff + George Bures Miller, Royal Art Lodge, Michael Snow, Eldon Garnet, Guy Maddin, General Idea and pretty much anyone else you can think of. We would wager that The Power Plant is one of the best contemporary art galleries anywhere.

The Power Plant has given us a lot, and now they need us to give back.

The Power Plant is establishing a new program, Power Youth, an education and outreach initiative that extends beyond the gallery walls. Power Youth is aimed at youth ages 13+ in priority neighbourhoods. Your support will help The Power Plant turn this project into reality for Toronto youth and secure an artist in residence in two locations to teach free visual art studio workshops. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit The Power Plant for guided tours and interact with a team of gallery educators. Through this new program, The Power Plant hopes to introduce the magic of contemporary art into the lives of young people and give them the tools for self-expression + exploration, help them gain new skills, and discuss issues impacting them and the world today.
